Pottery Taster Course

A four session course covering the basics of pottery. 

Session 1 - hand building
To kick things off and get to grips with clay we will make a ghost ornament or bird feeder. Introducing you to the properties of clay, coiling, shaping and joining pieces together.

Session 2 - throwing
The thing that everyone wants to have a go at - throwing! I'll guide you through the basics of the wheel and you can see if you're a natural. Everyone has got a pot in them - even if it's a wonky one.

Session 3 - slab building
Back to some calm hand building for the 3rd session, making a mug or a shaped dish. 

Session 4 - glazing
Finally you get to glaze your pieces using a selection of glazes and oxides.

By the end of the course you will have a much better understanding of the endless possibilities pottery holds, along with 3 unique pieces you can proudly show off to your friends and family ;)

These sessions will be arranged to suit and will run over a 6 week period.

Held at my Tamworth studio.
All materials, equipment and firings included.
Sessions 2 - 3 hours each, daytime and evening slots available.
