EHC Ceramics
Hello, I’m Emma Haywood Curzon a full time designer and part time potter. I started dabbling with ceramics in 2015 when I signed up for pottery and sculpture at Lichfield College. The weekly classes soon grew into a hobby that I love and spend as much time as I can exploring.
Born Slippy
My preferred method of decorating with coloured slips is a technique that combines the attention to detail and control that I love about design with the unpredictable results you get with the production of ceramics. I love creating spontaneous and tactile designs that mimic various analog print effects I have experimented with in the past.
Go Slow
I enjoy making soft slab pieces as well as throwing some shapes on the wheel. The process involved with ceramics that can’t be rushed is a welcome escape from the immediacy of creating to order digitally. Also, I don’t want to brag but I recently made a plate that was flat!
